Introduction to Professional Development

KVCC Seal

Welcome to Faculty Professional Development

Our ability to teach our subject manner in the best possible manner relies greatly on our continued connection to our field and our development as professionals.

In regard to Professional Development our contract specifies two important areas:

  • Each Faculty member is required to develop an annual plan for their professional development activities.
  • Each Faculty member is "allocated" a specific amount of money to use to pursue these activities.

Keep in mind that the language of the contract continues to allow for the denial of professional development support of money is not available.  In addition, the total amount of money allocated can and may go above the amount negotiated in the contract.
