Studying Strategies
Studying is not an inherent ability that everyone is born with. Nor is it something you learn once and never have to re-evaluate. No one study strategies works for all subjects either. And learning how to learn is not something everyone has completed.
If you ever feel like your study habits are not cutting it and you wonder what else you could be doing to perform better in class, you are not alone. College is different from high school and each course topic can be different from the next. Some professions are less personally involved, class sizes may be bigger, exams are often worth more, reading assignments can be intense, and classes can be much more rigorous. If you are struggling, it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you; it just means you may need to learn some more effective study skills. Fortunately, there are many active, effective study strategies that are shown to be effective in college classes.
